Welcome to the Georgia Region web site. Celebrating our 20th year!

Welcome to the website for the Georgia Region of The National Shoot to Retrieve Field Trial Association. We are a family-oriented group of bird dog men and women. We believe in the betterment of the pointing dog breeds through breeding and competition. Our field trials are sanctioned through The National Shoot to Retrieve Field Trial Association and result in championships recognized nationwide. Originally intended to extend the hunting season, NSTRA has matured into an acceptable outlet for full-time field trialers as well as hunters who want to run their dogs on weekends. The format is a 30 minute hunt for gamebirds (most usually quail), during which the dog is scored on the quality of the find (point), retrieve, ground coverage, obedience and backing. Judges are qualified by the National Organization. It's a great way to run your dog, meet other bird dog people, and re-live hunting stories, as well as look at other dogs and breeds. Only pointing dog breeds registered with FDSB, AKC, CKC, or NSTRA are allowed. This is a great way to spend a day!
